Alex Pancoe

Chicago Native, Sports

Hi, I'm Alex Pancoe!

Alex Pancoe's Bio:

Alex Pancoe is a proud native of Chicago, Illinois. Born and raised in Highland Park, Pancoe has always called Chicago his home. After graduating from Highland Park High School in 2004, Alex packed his bags and made his way to Evanston, Illinois where he would attend Northwestern University. Alex chose to pursue political science because Northwestern did not offer an undergraduate degree in finance. Drawn to its unique combination of analytical thought and room for creativity, political science was a natural fit. Political Science gave Alex an education rooted in the very ingredients he would need to lead a successful career in finance, investing, and life in general.   It is rare to grow up in Chicago and not be a passionate sports fan. Alex Pancoe is not one of those rare cases. He has, and will always be, an avid sports fan. For decades now, Alex has bled blue and red for his beloved Chicago Cubs and purple for his alma mater, Northwestern University. In fact, Alex comes from a family of Northwestern alumnus and is proud to share in that tradition. His grandfather, Arthur Pancoe is an alumnus and former calculus professor at Northwestern. Needless to say his diehard passion for the Big Cats was instilled from a very early age. Alex vividly remembers watching the Northwestern Football team as a child and can still count on two hands the number of home games he has missed since the mid 90’s. While Alex recalls numerous childhood memories at Northwestern, none outweigh that of their historic run to the Rose Bowl when he was 9 years old. A child who found a diehard passion for a school and its football team would later find friendship and camaraderie with the football players of his class. These friendships continue to grow today, and further solidifies Alex’s life-long connection to the Northwestern Football team.   When his busy schedule allows, Pancoe enjoys indulging in a variety of other passions. A lifelong and adventurous skier, you will find Alex on the slopes whenever time permits. He likens heaven to being the first skier on the mountain after several inches of fresh powder. Pancoe’s favorite slopes are Vail Mountain’s China Bowl and the Blue Ski Basin. He continues to explore resorts across the globe and is always itching to find the perfect ski run.   After graduating from Northwestern in 2009, Pancoe made the move back to Chicago where his goal of working in finance would not soon relent. A passion discovered early in college, Pancoe was driven to pursue a career in finance. He remains involved with Northwestern University and additionally is very involved with the JUF, the SAE Fraternity, and the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital.   Alex Pancoe is also an avid fan of skiing. He never feels more at home than he does when gracefully gliding down some of the world's most renowned mountains. There are very few things better than the adrenaline pumping experience of slashing your way down the slopes, and the views skiing brings with it serve as a perpetual source of inspiration. It's a way to remain present in the moment and return to the reality before you, and Alex treasures his time at ski resorts for these very reasons.
